Endourology is a minimally invasive surgical technique used to treat many diseases of the upper and lower urinary tract, from the urethra to the kidney.

Endourology surgery is done through an instrument similar to a telescope (endoscope), which is coupled to a camara and endourological instruments, which enter the body through natural ducts and cavities, such as the urethra, bladder, ureter and kidney without the need for incisions.

This procedure allows you to treat or diagnose problems on an outpatient basis, whether you are a man or a woman, regardless of your age or weight, without significant bleeding and avoiding weight, without significant bleeding and avoiding open surgery, finally presenting and excellent evolution and a prompt return to your daily life.

This technique allows for the removal or fragmentation of kidney stones, allowing surgeons to determine what is causing them and thus help prevent more from forming. One if the main areas where this method is most developed is in the treatment of urinary lithiasis, since there are currently very thin and small instruments, such as the flexible ureteroscope endoscope, which even allows access to the upper urinary tract, that is, to the upper or proximal ureter and reach the kidney.

With this it is possible to treat practically all the stones that are located in the urinary tract.

Today, it has been shown that using endoscopic techniques the success rate for low ureteral stones is 95% and for high ureteral stones approximately 90%.

This condition can cause colic or intense pain, but thanks to this technique, a solution to the problem can be offered effectively and in a single session.

And that is why the current trend in urology is moving towards endourology.

The different endourological procedures that exist today are:
